"I have found when we go out to meet with one of these advisors to do a hand off, the ice is already broken! They have seen the videos, they recognize me, and it gives them something to talk about right off the bat. It really eases the intro.

I've received compliments on the videos from these newer contacts, and from advisors that I've known for a while. It's proving to be a nice touch point."

How it Works

Here's a more detailed description of how the program works:

  1. We write the video scripts and get them approved by FINRA, as needed. Some of the current messages include:
    • Annuity Arbitrage
    • Premium Financing
    • Life Settlements
    • Insurance as an Asset Class
    • Captive Insurance Companies
    • IRA Maximizer
  2. Call us to learn about the other 10-plus topics on our menu. (And, yes, we would love to hear your ideas about other topics of interest.)
  3. After you select your scripts, we send them to you in advance of the recording session along with guidelines for how to prepare. We use a teleprompter, so there is no need to memorize anything.
  4. You schedule a time slot for a recording session at a location and time convenient for you. We will shoot up to 12 one-minute messages in one sitting. Upcoming tapings include:
    • September 19-21, 2010 | Chicago, IL | NFP Conference
  5. After the recording session, our production staff will edit and prepare your messages for distribution, which includes adding your logo, contact information, etc. If you are a registered representative, you must submit the taped videos, FINRA letter (which we provide) and scripts to your compliance department for review and approval. Once you provide the approvals to us, we will distribute the messages.
  6. The rep must submit the taped videos, FINRA letter (which we provide) and scripts to their compliance department for review and approval and to obtain proper securities disclosure for the e-mail. You will give that to us. Once approval has been granted, we're ready to proceed.
  7. We recommend sending out a mailing in advance on your compliance approved letterhead announcing your new program to your referral sources. We provide a sample letter you can customize. This is an optional activity you would handle from your office.
  8. You provide us with a list of who should receive your messages. Up to 50 advisors are included in the base price. More are available at additional cost.
  9. We "protect" these names for you. This means we will not send video messages created by other producers to your protected names. This is essential to maintaining the personal appeal of the program. To do this, we maintain a master database of all producers and all of their advisors. We cross reference all new advisor names against the entire existing database before we agree to add them to your list and send your messages. This also means we may decline to add some of the names you submit to us because they are already included by another producer.
  10. Each month we send out an email on your behalf to your list. Although we send the video for you, it appears to come directly from you. When your advisors open the email, they will see that you are the sender. If they reply, their reply will go directly to you. We use an email service for this. Each email will contain a picture of you from our recording session which, when clicked, will play the video. The email will also contain your contact information, logo, the required "unsubscribe" functionality required by spam laws and other disclosures.
  11. We monitor the emails opened and the videos viewed and send you a monthly report to help you gauge the effectiveness of the program. Of course, the real measure of effectiveness is the cases you open as a result.
